I've seen a lot of Japanese Restaurants here in Cebu City but for some reasons, I never tried to dine in any of it. My not so adventurous self was a little bit hesitant in eating foods that are new to me but anyway this is it!
For the purpose of not being surprised, I did my research first before going to the branch of Shabu Shabu Ichiban in SM Seaside Cebu. I learned that the art of Shabu Shabu is a Japanese hotpot dish that requires thinly sliced meat and vegetables submerged in flavorful broth then consumed immediately with or without sauce.
Shabu Shabu Ichiban is known to be the #1 hotpot chain in Nagoya, Japan. They specializes in unlimited Shabu Shabu and many other Japanese favorites like Kushikatsu or Japanese Style Fried Chicken, Tempura, Udon and many more.
They served us two flavors which is Taiwan Soup Based and Tonkatsu. Anyway, if you don't like these flavors they have 24 different kinds of soup based to choose from namely Konbu (Seaweed), Ginger, Vegetable, Plum Vegetable, Tomato, Tonkotsu, Tonkotsu Soy, Shoyu, Soy Milk, Soy Milk Sesame, Spicy Soy Milk, Soy Bean with Healthy Spice, Spicy Miso, Spicy Miso Butter, Spicy Miso Kimchi, Taiwan Ramen, Miso Taiwan Ramen, Spicy Healthy Spice, Kimchi, Tantan, Spicy Szechuan, Red Hot Szechuan, Curry, and Basil Cream.
They also added a refrigerator where you can get an additional meat or vegetable for your soup.
A dessert will also be served after eating the Shabu Shabu and for us, it was a Strawberry or Chocolate flavored Ice cream.
