Kalanggaman Island (Travel Guide)
Since a lot of you have been asking details about my recent
Kalanggaman Island Trip, I decided to create a blog about it.
Kalanggaman Island is a superb tourist destination in Palompon,
Leyte with a long shoreline, powdery white sand and crystal clear water. A
mini “Boracay” as they say.
How to get there:
There a lot of ways to get to Palompon, Leyte. It could be via Air,
Land or Sea but for us it is via land since we are already staying in Ormoc City
due to our company re assignment.
From Ormoc
We rented a car to Palompon Port for the amount of Php 3000 which
is already good for 10 persons. At around 4:00 am, we departed from our
staffhouse and we arrived in Palompon Port at around 5:00 am. The tourism
office of Palompon limits the visitors into 500 tourist per day so it is best
if you arrive in the port before 6:00 am. They will require you to register
your names and will also collect Php 150 per adult for a day tour which will
serve as an environmental fee. Boat going to Kalanggaman Island takes an hour
but if you’re riding a speedboat, it will only take you 35 minutes.
From Cebu
There are daily trips going to Palompon, Leyte and the cheapest is
via Cokaliong Shipping for only Php 350 for an Economy class
Fees:
Vehicle (Php 3000/10 person) Php 300.00
Boat (Php 3000/15 person) Php 200.00
